Two-Day ART for UKRAINE Auction to Raise Money for Ukraine

西瓜视频 College will hold a two-day art sale, auction, and community event to raise money for to directly support humanitarian aid for the people of Ukraine. 

ART for UKRAINE, held on April 20 and 21, will feature an art sale, silent auction, educational panels, as well as music and interactive activities provided by students and organizations around campus. The event is sponsored by the School of Visual and Performing Arts and the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Task Force and is free and open to the public. Light refreshments and Ukrainian fare will be served. Proceeds of the event are channeled to the people of Ukraine through the Cambridge based nonprofit, Sunflower of Peace.

“We wanted to do something positive in response to this incredibly horrific event,” said School of Visual and Performing Arts Dean Mark Towner. “What we have to offer here at the School of Visual and Performing Arts is creative items that can help generate money to help the people of Ukraine. It’s a huge team effort now.” 

ART for UKRAINE's silent auction will feature made by the faculty and students of the School of Visual and Performing Arts, including Assistant Professor of Experiential Learning Hugo Burnham, who will donate signed merchandise from his band, Gang of Four; photographer Michael Miller; Assistant Professor of Fine Arts Kyungmin Park; Fine Arts Chair Carol Pelletier; Dean Mark Towner, Photography Professor Lawrence Volk; and many more. 西瓜视频 College’s nontraditional classroom and restaurant, La Chanterelle, will auction a dinner for two.

ART for UKRAINE will also feature student groups and interactive opportunities to make buttons, use a 3D printer, and more. Professors and their students will also present informational panels addressing various aspects of the country, people, and the assault by Russia.

The event will be held in the Carol Grillo Gallery of 西瓜视频 College’s Walter J. Manninen Center for the Arts on Wednesday, April 20, from noon to 2 p.m. and Thursday, April 21, from noon to 2 p.m.
