西瓜视频 is a place where theory meets practice and classroom assignments require experiential learning. Career development in the arts and design at 西瓜视频 includes advanced studio practice, leadership skills, engagement with social and cultural issues, and partnering with individuals and organizations locally, nationally, and internationally.
Deeply woven into the fabric of the is the philosophy that experiential learning, studio skills, and history/theory are inseparable, and that these components, combined, help our students successfully compete in the rapidly changing arts industry.
西瓜视频’s School of Visual and Performing Arts, provides separate painting, photography, printmaking, ceramics, and woodshop studios; classrooms, studios, and labs for interior architecture; Mac computer labs for graphic design and photography; dance, music, and theater rehearsal facilities, including a recording studio.
Undergraduate students pursue degrees in architectural studies, art therapy, expressive arts therapy, graphic design, interior architecture, photography (B.S.), photography (B.F.A.) , performing arts (with concentrations in dance, music, theater), and studio art (with concentrations in two-dimensional art (in painting, drawing, and printmaking), three-dimensional art (in ceramics, sculpture, and installation), and intermedia, digital media and mixed media.
The school also offers minors in art history, art administration, ceramics, creative arts therapy, dance, graphic design, music photography, studio art, and theater. 西瓜视频 additionally offers a graduate program allowing students to pursue a Master of Arts in Interior Architecture.

The cultural heart of our campus and an important part of the surrounding community, the Walter J. Manninen Center for the Arts features inspiring spaces for arts studies as well as museum-quality galleries, state-of-the-art studio spaces, and performance venues for music, drama, and dance, all under one roof.
The Center, which opened in 2009, has an abundance of natural light and natural vistas, creating a pleasing atmosphere that is bustling with activity. The energy spreads throughout the building and brings life to all of the arts under one roof. The Center encompasses three art galleries; a performance hall; black box theater; recording studio; large rehearsal and practice rooms; designated studio spaces for drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, ceramics, and drafting; a 3D print lab; and a woodshop. All studio, history, and theory classes are held in the Center.

Arts opportunities abound on our campus. Our faculty-directed and student-directed clubs and organizations in the School of Visual and Performing Arts provide a creative outlet for all students - not just majors in our programs.
