Jason Nichol
Profile
Jason W. Nichol began his post as the Chair of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics/Assistant Professor of Biotechnology in August 2011. Jason holds both a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering (1998) and Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering (2000) from the University of Arizona, and earned his Doctor of Philosophy in Bioengineering (2005) from the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to his arrival at 西瓜视频, Jason held both a Postdoctoral Fellow position at MIT (2005-2008) and a Research Fellow in Medicine position at Brigham and Women's Hospital/Harvard Medical School (2008-2011) in the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology. His previous experience and research spans many disciplines, including regenerative medicine/tissue engineering, biomaterials, biomechanics, mechanobiology, micro/nanotechnology and cardiovascular biology. Generally his research investigates developing models of tissue growth and development, elucidating the cellular and molecular response to controlled mechanical stimuli. Dr. Nichol is an author on over 20 peer-reviewed publications and aims to apply his extensive research background towards expanding research and internship opportunities for undergraduates at 西瓜视频.
